Role Overview

We are looking for a Junior Sales Representative to create and expand Retano’s customer base in Italy. The
primary focus of the role is cold acquisition: identifying target retailers and relevant decision-makers,
initiating first contact, qualifying leads, and developing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

- Research the Italian retail market and create target customer lists focused on medium and large retailers
- Identify relevant decision-makers and contacts at different organizational levels within target accounts
- Initiate cold outreach to prospective customers through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other appropriate channels
- Run structured follow-up activities to generate interest and secure initial meetings
- Qualify and evaluate leads based on customer interest, business potential, and development prospects
- Conduct initial discovery to understand customer needs and identify potential fit with Retano’s IT products and related services
- Conduct initial company and solution presentations for prospective clients
- Work closely with senior sales and the pre-sales team throughout the sales cycle
- Build and maintain a medium- and long-term pipeline of prospects and qualified sales opportunities
- Support commercial negotiations and follow-up activities aimed at converting qualified prospects into customers
- Contribute to the preparation of commercial proposals and offers
- Maintain accurate prospect, lead, and opportunity information in the CRM system




- Contribute to sales forecasting and provide regular activity and pipeline reporting to headquarters
- Participate in industry conferences, exhibitions, and business forums

Requirements

- 1+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, lead generation, or customer acquisition, preferably in software, IT solutions, or professional services
- Motivation and confidence to work with cold outreach and proactively approach new potential customers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with decision-makers, including senior and C-level contacts
- Strong presentation and initial discovery skills
- Experience working with CRM systems
- Basic negotiation skills and willingness to develop them further
- Persistence, self-organization, and a results-oriented mindset
- High motivation for professional development and career growth toward a Sales Manager / Business Development Manager role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Based in Italy

Nice to have

- Previous experience with outbound prospecting, cold calling, email outreach, or social selling
- Experience working with retail companies or selling technology solutions to retail businesses
- Understanding of retail business processes and/or enterprise IT solutions
- English at B2 level or higher would be a plus
