Allergy Consultants PA is looking for a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our team in Verona, NJ. Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner at the front desk
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to patient inquiries
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and process co-pays and billing information
- Maintain and update accurate patient records and medical charts (EMR/EHR systems)
- Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and communication with insurance providers
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, faxing, and managing correspondence





Requirements:
- Prior experience as a medical receptionist or administrative assistant in a healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical scheduling software
- Knowledge of medical insurance verification, billing, and prior authorizations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a busy front-office environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical administrative certification a plus
