Within the Test & Evaluation and Asset Management Area, we are looking for an Avionics Assets Engineer for our Turin site. The resource will be inserted within the Test & Evaluation and Asset Management unit and in particular in the Avionics Assets discipline to primarily carry out development, qualification and commissioning activities of test systems serving avionic integration and/or functional verification activities, both at the Industry's avionic laboratories and at the customer's, of equipment, sub-systems and avionic systems integrated on proprietary and consortium aircraft developed by Leonardo's Aeronautics Division.
The resource will mainly deal with:
receiving, analyzing and eliciting test system requirements starting from test and system requirements, with structuring, management and traceability through requirement management tools;
defining the architecture of the test system (system or subsystem integration rig, HW/SW integration benches) ensuring consistency between system requirements, functions,
interfaces and their implementation;
contributing to the development of the test system design, with regard to functional logic, interfaces and operational flows;
contributing to the definition, analysis and allocation of non-functional requirements (reliability, maintainability, safety and security) of the test system, evaluating their impact on architecture, integration and verification strategies;
technically coordinating the design activities of the test system, having an understanding of design choices and supporting alignment between the different disciplines;
supervising the construction of test systems both at the supplier and at internal laboratories;
defining and executing test procedures for the verification and qualification of test systems and producing qualification evidence (e.g. test report);
supporting the commissioning of test systems by also contributing to the drafting of manuals and acceptance procedures;
supporting the operation of test systems through fault analysis and identification activities;
researching and contributing to the development of innovative solutions and new methodologies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the activity carried out. Education: Three-year or five-year degree in Electronic or Aerospace Engineering. Required experience level: Junior Technical/IT skills:
Interpretation of technical diagrams and electrical/avionic schematics and understanding of design solutions related to test systems;
Knowledge of the main avionic communication buses (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, AFDX, serial, etc.) and their electrical and logical management in automatic test systems;
Knowledge of the physical characteristics of analog/digital video signal and audio signal transmission media and their electrical and logical management in automatic test systems;
Basic ability to use electromechanical design tools and understanding of electronic/electrical schematics.
Ability to define, draft and execute test, commissioning and qualification procedures;
Ability to manage the entire life cycle of the test system, from requirements definition to qualification and commissioning;
Basic knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems;
Ability to develop and pursue innovative solutions compared to current equipment, methods and test documentation; NICE TO HAVE: Experience as a System Engineer and/or Test System Engineer in the avionic field;
Experience in electrical/mechanical design for test systems;
Knowledge of connectors, cables, avionic components and electrical protection devices of aeronautical type. Behavioral skills: Ability to work in a team
