Verona
DEVELOP designs and builds custom machines and robotic systems for manufacturers across the country.
We are a FANUC Authorized Systems Integrator and an A3 Certified Robot Integrator in Verona, Wisconsin. Design, machining, assembly, controls, and runoff all happen under one roof, so you watch your work go from a blank program to a machine making parts in a customer's plant.
We started in 2014 and we are building this company to stay privately held. We do not cut corners to hit a quarter. We build machines we are proud to put our name on, and we keep clients for years because the machine runs.
This work is humbling. Custom machines fight back. So we hire optimists, and we protect a shop where positive energy is contagious. We play offense and we move together.
How we manage is simple. We give you a clear objective, the tools to hit it, and room to work.
WHAT THE JOB IS
You own all robot and PLC code on the machines we build. You program the robot, write the PLC program, bring the machine to life on our floor, prove it out in front of the customer, and install it in their plant.
DAY TO DAY
- Program FANUC robots on the teach pendant
- Write and debug PLC programs, primarily in Siemens TIA Portal
- Work with mechanical and electrical engineers during design so the machine is built to be controlled well
- Work with our software engineer, who owns HMI and machine data. You own the robot and PLC side of that handoff
- Power up, debug, and run off machines on our shop floor
- Test and validate safety systems
- Lead factory acceptance tests with the customer
- Install and commission machines at customer sites and train their operators
- Lead controls on a project and run small projects end to end
- Write and hold our controls standards
- Train other robot programmers as the team grows
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years programming robots and PLCs on custom machines or automated systems
- Hands-on FANUC robot programming experience
- Siemens PLC experience preferred. Allen-Bradley experience is also a fit, since we build on both
- You have commissioned machines at a customer site and stayed until they ran
- Able to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot with a meter
- Degree in electrical, robotics, mechatronics, mechanical, or computer engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Travel of 10% to 30% depending on the year.
WHAT HELPS YOU STAND OUT
- Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley
- FANUC certifications, or options such as iRVision
- Safety PLCs and safety system validation
- Servo and motion control
- Machine vision
- Experience at an integrator or machine builder
WHO YOU ARE
- An optimist. The machine will humble you, and you come back the next day sure it is going to run
- Mission and team first. You play offense and move with the group
- High velocity. You are decisive and you keep momentum
- Disciplined. Pride in the craft, and you finish what you start
- You would rather be on the floor fixing it than in a meeting talking about it
- You leave a clean workspace so we can crush tomorrow
JOB TYPE: Full-time
PAY: $90,000 - $130,000
BENEFITS: 401(k) matching, health insurance, paid time off, relocation assistance
