OLSA is an engineering and manufacturing company specialized in the design, development and production of high-technology equipment and complete process systems for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cosmetic and fine chemical industries.
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer with solid experience in the design of pressure vessels, tanks and process equipment , capable of working within a highly regulated environment and ensuring full compliance with international design codes and standards.
This role requires a strong technical background in mechanical design, pressure equipment regulations and engineering calculations, combined with a practical manufacturing-oriented mindset.
? Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop pressure vessels, tanks and process equipment in compliance with applicable international standards.
- Perform mechanical design activities according to PED 2014/68/EU , ASME Section VIII , and related codes and standards.
- Review customer specifications and User Requirement Specifications (URS) to identify applicable regulatory and technical requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design dossiers and manufacturing drawings.
- Interface with Notified Bodies , inspection agencies and customers during design reviews and certification processes.
- Design mechanical systems including agitators, mixers, lifting devices and supporting steel structures.
- Support product standardization and simplification initiatives to improve scalability and manufacturing efficiency.
- Monitor and implement updates related to international pressure equipment regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
? What We Are Looking For
- Strong knowledge of the design principles of pressure vessels and pressure-containing equipment .
- Proven experience applying PED 2014/68/EU requirements and conformity assessment procedures.
- Good understanding of ASME Section VIII Division 1 and/or Division 2 .
- Familiarity with pressure vessel calculations, material selection and mechanical integrity requirements.
- Experience working with certification bodies and technical authorities.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail and "right-first-time" approach.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Advanced use of SolidWorks and preparation of production drawings.
? Education & Experience
- Degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
- Proven experience in the design of pressure vessels, process tanks, reactors or similar process equipment .
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, cosmetic, food or chemical process industries will be considered a strong plus.
- Knowledge of EN 13445 , pressure equipment certification processes and international regulatory frameworks is highly appreciated.
- Experience with rotating equipment (mixers, agitators, drives) is considered a plus.
