A Diesel Calibration Engineer independently handles the calibration and optimization of control units for various vehicle systems (e.g., to meet legal requirements and customer demands. For powertrain applications, the role is primarily focused on diesel engine calibration, including performance optimization, fuel consumption improvement, emissions compliance, and aftertreatment system calibration. This job includes the independent planning, execution, and evaluation of calibration functions in different calibration environments (e.g., test track, engine and powertrain test benches, software in the loop environment, etc.).
Independent calibration of control unit functions for various vehicle systems (powertrain, ADAS, chassis, E/E, etc.), with a strong focus on diesel engine management systems.
Independent planning, execution, and evaluation of calibration functions in different calibration environments.
Calibration and optimization of diesel engine functions, including combustion, air path, fuel injection, torque control, emissions, and aftertreatment systems,



to achieve customer and legislative targets.
Independent creation of documentation for calibration parameters and measurement results.
Independent presentation of results to the customer.
Independent development of innovative methods and tools for calibration tasks.
Support for the project manager and logistics in planning calibration activities.
Support in creating and implementing patent ideas.
Participation in tests and customer meetings.
Secondary college for technical education, or a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, energy engineering, propulsion systems engineering, or similar fields, preferably with a focus on internal combustion engines and powertrain systems.
Driver's license for cars is advantageous.
Several years of experience in the application and validation of control unit functions.
