H3Strategic Communications and Campaigns Associate - Italy /h3 pApplication Deadline: 19 October 2026 /p pDepartment: Other /p pEmployment Type: Fixed Term Contract /p pLocation: Italy /p h3Description /h3 pThis position is with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), a global network of communications professionals in the field of climate, energy and nature. GSCC is a programme hosted by the Meliore Foundation. /p pWe're looking for an innovative and experienced Italy Desk Associate, Strategic Communications and Campaigns. The right candidate will have a unique combination of skills and want to play a major role in tackling climate change and galvanising action, helping to speed up the energy transition in Italy, Europe, and beyond. It is a one-year fixed-term contract. /p pGSCC team members devise and deliver campaigns, and give strategic advice, communications and outreach support to partners. We work as part of a global network of communications experts to enhance the public debate on climate change and its solutions on a broader level. The work will involve pitching stories to the media and content creators, designing and implementing digital campaigns, and maintaining trusted relationships with key journalists and stakeholders in Italy. /p pReporting to the Italy Desk - Lead, this role will contribute to the implementation of specific campaigns in line with the Italian and overarching Europe strategies, and to maintaining and building our network of partners to increase political and media attention to our key issues. /p h3How you'll contribute /h3 ul liStrategy Content Execution: Operationalize communication strategies by creating and distributing high-quality assets—including press releases, social media content, quotes, and digital products— tailored for organic reach across selected channels and partners. /li liCommunications Campaigns: Lead digital campaigns and deliver real-time communications campaigns during key events in collaboration with internal teams and external partners. /li liMedia Influencer Relations: Build and maintain trusted relationships with top Italian journalists, digital media outlets, and online influencers and content creators to pitch timely, targeted stories that drive climate action. /li liPartner Engagement Strategic Advice: Foster strong networks across political leaders, NGOs, academia,
civil society organizations and business sectors in Italy, providing strategic communications advice to align with campaign goals. /li liSpokesperson Development: Support and expand the spokesperson network, with a direct focus on building and elevating their public profiles. /li liPolitical Media Intelligence: Monitor Italian political and media landscapes to spot strategic engagement opportunities and provide actionable insights for colleagues and partners. /li liAd-Hoc Initiatives: Execute additional communication tasks and strategic projects as needed. /li /ul h3Our ideal candidate has /h3 pTo succeed in this role, you will have all the below qualities: /p ul liTrack record of crafting and pitching compelling stories that cut through the noise to resonate with Italian audiences. /li liDeep knowledge of climate communications, capable of guiding partners on effective messaging and outreach strategies. /li liProven experience leading impactful climate campaigns. /li liProven experience in a digital media campaigning role, with the ability to analyze digital metrics and evaluate performance. /li liProactive self-starter with a talent for establishing and maintaining strong partnerships across the climate sector, capable of working independently to establish relationships and initiate and manage projects. /li liSkilled in turning campaign ideas into executed communication outputs alongside diverse teams, experts, and external partners. /li liStrong media-tracking skills to monitor political debates, manage time effectively, and rapidly capitalize on breaking news and emerging trends. /li liProven experience transforming ideas into campaigns and communication outputs and managing their delivery, collaborating with various colleagues and experts. /li liResidency in Italy and native-level Italian language skills. /li liFluency in written and spoken English, our working language. /li liGenuine interest in and passion for addressing climate change. /li liA generous,
