pOne of our clients, an international ophthalmic medical device business, is looking for a Financial Controller to take full ownership of the finances of its Italian entity. You'll run the month-end close and management accounts, keep reporting to Group accurate and on time, and act as the go-to finance partner for the local commercial team. /p pThis is a hands-on role with real breadth. You'll cover everything from PL, balance sheet and cash flow to intercompany, inventory, COGS, tax and compliance, and you'll lead the rollout of NetSuite in Italy. You'll report into the Head of Finance – Europe and work closely with Group Reporting, Shared Services, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain and external auditors. It suits an experienced finance controller who thrives in a matrix environment and takes pride in getting the detail right. /p h3What you'll do /h3 pMonth-end and reporting /p ul liOwn the month-end close calendar and post all journals, including payroll, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, COGS and FX revaluations /li liPrepare the full monthly management pack (PL, balance sheet, cash flow, schedules and variance analysis) and explain the drivers behind the numbers /li liManage accounts payable end to end, the daily cash book and bank reconciliations /li liMaintain the fixed asset register and build financial models to support strategic decisions /li /ul pIntercompany and Group reporting /p ul liPrepare and issue monthly intercompany recharges and make sure intercompany balances mirror across European entities /li liReconcile intercompany loan accounts and submit all Group schedules, responding promptly to auditor queries /li /ul pInventory,



COGS and systems /p ul liOversee stock movements and accuracy in the ERP/WMS, working closely with warehouse and operations teams /li liPost monthly COGS journals, reconcile stock accounts and close the Italian period in the ERP /li liLead the implementation of NetSuite in Italy /li /ul pControls, compliance and tax /p ul liMaintain complete balance sheet reconciliations (bank, AR/AP, VAT, payroll and provisions) /li liProcess VAT and transfer pricing transactions and review non-deductible costs for accuracy and tax efficiency /li liKeep statutory and parallel accounting aligned with auditor requirements /li /ul pBusiness partnering /p ul liCalculate monthly sales commissions and produce dashboards, overhead analysis and territory PLs for sales managers /li liSupport balance sheet reviews, budgeting, forecasting and rolling outlooks /li liGive timely finance support to the Italian sales, operations and customer service teams /li /ul h3What you'll bring /h3 ul liQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Italian equivalent) /li liProven experience as a Finance Controller or Management Accountant /li liExperience with ERP systems, ideally NetSuite /li liKnowledge of IFRS and Italian GAAP, plus a solid understanding of local taxes /li liFluent English and strong working Italian /li liTransfer pricing and intercompany experience /li /ul h3What makes you successful here /h3 pYou can turn financial data into clear insight for non-finance colleagues.
