Brief Job Description:

The Product Quality Engineer acts as the vital link between field performance and product evolution. The role leverages real-world data, lessons learned, customer feedback, warranty information, and reliability analysis to improve product quality, manufacturing performance, and future product designs. The position leads structured problem-solving activities, drives robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and ensures corrective actions are effectively implemented to improve customer satisfaction and product reliability.

Essential Functions:

• Analyze field, warranty, and customer quality data to identify performance trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.

• Lead and facilitate 8D investigations for customer complaints, field failures, warranty claims, and recurring quality issues.

• Drive robust Root Cause Analysis utilizing 5 Why, Fishbone, Is/Is Not, Fault Tree Analysis, Kepner-Tregoe, and other structured methodologies.

• Coordinate containment, correction, corrective action, and preventive action activities across Engineering, Manufacturing,



Suppliers, and Service.

• Validate root causes through testing, inspection, statistical analysis, and engineering evidence.

• Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure sustainable implementation.

• Interface with factories to drive manufacturing improvements and deployment of lessons learned.

• Provide quality and reliability inputs into DVT, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and product development activities.

• Define and lead Product Quality Plans including EOL testing and validation requirements.

• Monitor prototype builds, participate in approval processes, and report results.

• Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering and Procurement to improve supplier performance and reliability.

• Support development of quality processes, inspection plans, and Critical-to-Quality controls.

• Collect, analyze, and report quality, reliability, warranty, and performance metrics.
