Role Description Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort is one of Italy’s most iconic luxury hotels, celebrated for its unique beachfront setting, rich heritage and distinctive connection to Venice.

As we continue the hotel’s repositioning into a leading luxury lifestyle destination, we are seeking an inspirational, commercially astute and highly visible Director of Rooms to lead and elevate our Rooms Division.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this pivotal leadership role has responsibility for Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, Reservations, Beach and Pool Operations, and the hotel’s boat service. The Director of Rooms collaborates closely with other department heads to optimize the guest journey, streamline communication, and support revenue and occupancy targets. This position also focuses on training and coaching team members, implementing brand standards, handling complex guest issues, and upholding health, safety, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications·

1. Senior Rooms Division leadership experience within a luxury hotel, resort or high-end hospitality environment.
2.



Strong operational knowledge across Front Office, Guest Services, Reservations, Housekeeping and Laundry.
3. Previous experience overseeing resort facilities such as beach, pool or leisure operations.
4. A strong track record of delivering exceptional guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
5. Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, labour costs, forecasting, productivity and revenue optimisation.
6. Outstanding leadership, coaching and team-development abilities.
7. Exceptional guest engagement, communication and problem-solving skills.
8. A keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to quality.
9. Experience with OPERA, BirchStreet and housekeeping or maintenance-tracking systems.
10. Fluency in English; Italian is strongly preferred.
11. Eligibility to work in Italy.
