The research activity will focus on designing artificial cells that convert CO2 into amino acids, peptides and metabolites.
These biomimetic systems will be giant lipid vesicles containing organelles, purified enzymes and synthetic components.
The researcher will enable artificial metabolic networks and microreactors for CO2 fixation, contribute to cyanobacterial cultivation, isolation of functional carboxysomes, and enzyme expression for synthetic pathways.
