About the Role

We are looking for an After Sales Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering Department, supporting the After Sales & Design Service team in Bologna. The role focuses on the preliminary engineering and feasibility phase of retrofit projects for installed machinery. The successful candidate will translate customer requests for upgrades and improvements into feasible technical concepts and reliable inputs for quotation activities, with limited involvement in detailed mechanical design.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze customer requirements for upgrades, improvements and retrofit solutions on installed machinery.
- Develop preliminary technical concepts and identify feasible mechanical solutions.
- Assess technical feasibility, constraints and risks,



minimizing the need for detailed design during the preliminary phase.
- Estimate engineering effort, materials and technical complexity to support quotation preparation.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and software teams to validate proposed solutions.
- Interface with internal stakeholders and, when required, customers to clarify requirements and proposed solutions.
- Provide the technical inputs required for the subsequent detailed design phase.

What You Need to Be Successful

- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of expirience in feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, technical quotations or retrofit projects is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical design principles and industrial machinery.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD systems; CREO experience is preferred.
- Professional working knowledge of English.
- Curiosity and creativity in problem-solving, with the ability to think outside the box.
- Capability to balance innovation with technical feasibility and risk awareness.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong ownership.

Our Offer

Compensation for this role includes a base salary starting from EUR 45,000, in line with experience. The actual offer may exceed this minimum based on the candidate's qualifications and fit for the role.

A range of additional benefits (e.g., insurances, etc.) is also available in accordance with Company policy.

The applicable collective agreement is the CCNL Metalmeccanico.
