The research activity will focus on the role of women in forming the public sphere and in political relations between civil and religious powers in modern Europe, with attention to their connections with the Atlantic Revolutions. The research will examine women's participation in political life, the circulation of ideas across borders, and informal diplomacy between Europe and the Mediterranean.
A second area will look at gender, censorship, and politics, exploring how women confronted controls
