We are seeking a motivated Design and Technology Teacher to teach excellent instruction and learning lessons, projects and activities for Middle and High School Design and Technology classes in alignment with the IB MYP and Canadian OSSD curricula offered by the Bilingual European School, as well as supporting Globeducate events and activities.

Teaching responsibilities:
Teaching Planning and Curriculum Design: Design,develop, and deliver units of inquiry and learning pathways aligned with the IBMYP curriculum and the High School programme, integrating design, scientific,technological, and creative competencies through clear and progressive learningobjectives.
Development of Design Thinking and Problem-SolvingSkills: Guide students through the entire design cycle, from needs analysisand problem identification to research, defining success criteria, generatingsolutions, prototyping, and evaluating outcomes.
Design and Creation of Artefacts: Support students intransforming ideas into products, models, prototypes, and functional solutionsthrough sketches, technical drawings, digital modelling, and the appropriateuse of materials and tools.
Integration of Digital Technologies: Promote theinformed and creative use of digital tools and software for design, 2D and 3Dmodelling, prototyping, and presentation, fostering technological competenciesapplied to real-world problem solving.
Practical and Experiential Learning: Design andfacilitate hands-on, interdisciplinary learning experiences based on activelearning, experimentation, prototype development, and iterative designprocesses, recognising mistakes as opportunities for improvement.
Development of Technical and Practical Skills: Teachthe effective use of materials, tools, equipment,



and manufacturing techniques,promoting precision, independence, adherence to safety procedures, and anunderstanding of the properties and limitations of materials and technologies.
Research, Analysis, and Design Evaluation: Guidestudents in researching and analysing existing products, users, contexts, anddesign constraints, supporting them in developing specifications, establishingevaluation criteria, and assessing the effectiveness, functionality, andquality of their solutions.
Formative and Summative Assessment: Develop rubrics,assessment criteria, and feedback tools aligned with subject objectives and theIB MYP assessment framework, monitoring student progress throughout research,idea development, solution creation, and final evaluation stages.
Documentation and Reflection on the Design Process: Develop students’ ability to document project stages through portfolios,sketchbooks, technical documentation, testing records, results analysis, andcritical reflections on their learning journey.
Differentiation and Inclusive Teaching: Adaptactivities, assignments, and support strategies according to students’ varyingabilities, learning styles, and educational needs, encouraging participation,collaboration, and learner autonomy.

Interdisciplinary Learning and Real-World Applications: Design learning experiences that connect Design & Technology with subjectssuch as mathematics, science, computer science, visual arts, and sustainabilitythrough authentic projects that address real needs and promote knowledgetransfer across contexts.
Innovation and Sustainability: Promote a culture ofresponsible design by raising students’ awareness of the environmental, social,and economic impact of design decisions, encouraging efficient resource use,informed material selection, and the principles of the circular economy.
Development of Transferable Skills: Foster criticaland creative thinking, visual and technical communication, collaboration, timemanagement, organisation,



and the ability to justify and present designdecisions effectively.
Management of Learning Environments: Organise andmanage workshops, laboratories, and design spaces, preparing materials, tools,digital resources, and operational procedures to ensure a safe, stimulating,and innovation-oriented learning environment.
Monitoring and Continuous Improvement of TeachingPractice: Document learning outcomes, reflect on the effectiveness of teaching strategies, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculumcoherence, continuity of learning, and ongoing improvement of educationalprovision.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineer degree orequivalent, PGCE or other qualification, master's would be a plus;
- Qualified teaching experience appropriate for grade leveland subject area;
- Solid working knowledge of the concepts, activities andtechniques related to teaching Design and Technology at the required level;
- Strong foundation in classroom management;
- Committed to ensuring high standards of teaching andlearning;
- Flexible, resilient, supportive team player;
- Interculturally aware with well developed interpersonalskills;
- Well organized and efficient;
- Able to meet deadlines.
