Within the "**Engineering/WSD – Italy**" Directorate, MBDA Italia SpA is looking for a "**Comms & Security Engineer**". **Required Qualifications**: * Five-year degree in Computer Engineering or Telecommunications or Electronics Engineering * Preferential qualifications: Master / courses on ICT/Information Security and CCNA and CCNP Certifications **Professional Experience**: * Preferential qualification: practical experience, gained through laboratories and/or personal studies, in the programming and configuration of network devices and Operating Systems for networking and security aspects; * Teamwork attitude in an international context, willingness for interpersonal relationships, analytical and synthesis skills and written communication skills, work flexibility, willingness to travel in Italy and abroad. **Activities foreseen for the role**: The selected resource will be responsible for the following activities: Participate, under the guidance of a practitioner, in studies related to Cyber Protection and Networking activities such as: * Evaluation of possible Cyber threats against a weapon system and related Risk Analysis * Definition of Cyber functional, dimensional, performance and hardening requirements for a defense system * Design of the physical and functional communication architecture of the System; * Design of countermeasures to be integrated into the architecture of the weapon system and its components * Execution of trade-offs,



allocation of requirements to subsystems and support for the selection and testing of COTS components and/or development of Make components * Definition of justifications and test plans to support the project verification phase * Preparation of the necessary information to support the certification process of the weapon system and its parts according to the required standards (Common Criteria, NATO, …) **Professional Competencies**: * Specialized knowledge of issues related to the design and implementation of complex communication systems (IP based and non-IP based), with particular reference to functionality, physical and reliability aspects, modeling and theoretical sizing studies. * Knowledge related to ITC Security, and in particular: * of standards for information security (Common Criteria, ITSEC, ISO 27000/27001/27002/27005) and national laws and regulations: L.124/2007, DPCM 22/7/2011, DPCM 11/04/2002 and related guidelines * of standards/methods/processes/tools for threat assessment * of protection systems and technologies (e.g., physical protection, encryption algorithms, Intrusion detection systems, firewalls, crypto, etc…) * Knowledge related to Networking, and in particular: * of IP networks (communication protocols, routing, subnetting, QoS, DHCP, spanning tree, etc.) * of voice over IP (VoIP) communication protocols. * Knowledge of simulation and emulation tools for complex networks * Knowledge of tools for evaluating the performance of complex networks * Knowledge of the main programming languages (Python, C, C++, JAVA) * Knowledge of IT design techniques (e.g., UML, etc…) * Knowledge of the main operating system families (UNIX, Windows) * Basic knowledge of MATLAB/SIMULINK * Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence techniques applied to Cyber issues * Knowledge of quantum cryptography concepts (e.g., QKD, QNRG) and homomorphic cryptography * Knowledge of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing techniques **Language Skills**: * Good knowledge of written and spoken English **Organizational Competencies/Soft skills**: * Teamwork attitude in an international context * Willingness for interpersonal relationships * Analytical and synthesis skills and written communication skills * Work flexibility * Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad
