**MBDA Italia is the Italian company that is part of the multinational MBDA group, a world leader in the missile systems sector.** **MBDA represents the leading European Group with production and design capabilities able to cover the entire range corresponding to the current and future needs of the armed forces (land, air and sea).** The Programmes, CSS Support & Services Directorate is looking for a “TECHNICAL PUBLICATIONS AUTHOR” **Required Qualification**: Degree in Engineering (old or new system – 5 years) **Professional Experience**: At least 3 years of work experience **Activities foreseen for the role**: The selected resource will operate within the Technical Publication department of SUPPORT SERVICES ITALY as Manuals Author (Technical Documentation). The main activities that the resource will have to carry out are: * Verify the level of completeness and accuracy of the information necessary for the drafting of technical documentation, carrying out, together with the project manager, an analysis of the available data such as: * Maintenance plan, * Logistics tree, * LSA data, * List of spare parts, * Preliminary analyzes on product safety * Prepare the manual structure taking into account: * The information contained in the BMS relating to the technical documentation production process, * The requests of the final customer, and on the detailed technical information (e.g. product definition dossier) available * Analyze and evaluate the collected information, integrating it with further informational contributions from technical assistance colleagues, the integration department and project managers, in order to start the process of drafting the contents of the technical manual which provides for:



* General description of the system and its subsystems and list of technical characteristics * Information relating to the safety aspects of the product * Functional description of the system * Operating procedures * Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures both at 'O' maintenance level and at 'I' maintenance level * Troubleshooting and fault finding procedures * Illustrated parts catalog * Handling, Packaging, storage & transportation procedures (if requested) * Disposal * Furthermore, the resource will have to: * Guarantee support to the department manager in order to respond promptly and correctly to requests for estimates for the acquisition of new activities * Correctly apply the prescriptions present in the BMS relating to the drafting and production activities of Technical Publications * Participate in one of the international COI (Community Of Interests) working groups, providing an active and concrete contribution * Acquire and/or strengthen personal know-how relating to the XML language, the S1000D standard version 4.1 and the Software tools used for drafting technical publications and for creating IETPs * Acquire know-how relating to corporate SW repository (DRM) and product configuration management tools * Support the department manager in monitoring KPI activity (timeliness and quality) **Professional Skills**: * Practicality and familiarity with the use of the Microsoft Office package * Good knowledge of the XML language will be a preferential requirement **Linguistic knowledge**: * Knowledge of spoken and written English **Organizational skills/Soft skills**: * Organizational skills * Adaptability * Ability to work in a team * Problem solving attitude * Communication skills (verbal and written) * Conflict resolution skills * Flexible hours * Willingness to travel
