Within the Technical Directorate, MBDA Italia SpA is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer. **Required Qualification**: * Master's degree or old system degree in Engineering, Information Engineering sector (automation, biomedical, electronics, computer science, robotics, telecommunications or equivalent field). **Professional experience** * Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in software design of complex embedded systems. **Activities foreseen for the role**: Within the department responsible for flight software, the selected candidate will carry out the following activities: * Definition of robust, scalable and optimized multi-threading software architectures for mission-critical and hard real-time systems on high performance computing platforms, operating in technologically advanced contexts characterized by high reliability and determinism requirements * Complete design of the software stack integrating proprietary product lines, third-party items and from scratch solutions in compliance with memory,



computational resources and latency constraints * Responsible for the correct integration between software and hardware, guiding debugging and troubleshooting analyses on embedded targets and coordinating interdisciplinary collaboration between hardware, firmware and system engineering teams * Management of Quality Control and Quality Assurance of the software developed in accordance with standards, regulations and best practices of reference in the avionics sector **Professional skills**: * In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and main design patterns * Excellent command of the C++ language (C++17 or newer versions) with the use of the Standard Template Library * Experience with hard real-time operating systems (at least one of QNX, VxWorks, PikeOS, FreeRTOS, RTLinux or equivalent products) * Familiarity with the management of the most common communication buses and protocols (at least one of Ethernet, PCI Express, USB, CANbus, UART, Modbus, HDLC, SPI, I2C or comparable standards) * Solid low-level debugging skills (i.e. use of JTAG probes, logic analyzer, oscilloscope or similar tools) **Language skills**: * Good knowledge of written and spoken English **Organizational skills/Soft skills**: * Multidisciplinary collaboration skills and habit of teamwork * Strong proactivity and orientation towards continuous improvement * Complete autonomy in the role
