HR & Operations Intern
Location:
Turin, Italy Type: Internship
Experience:
No previous professional experience required Compensation: €500 per month Starting date: January 2027 Who We Are Ecosmic is on a mission to reduce threat exposure in space. We are a high-tech, data-driven space startup, bringing together an international team of engineers and computer scientists. We move fast, think deeply, and care about building things that matter. As our HR & Ops Intern, you’ll work closely with our Head of People across the employee journey, from hiring and onboarding to how our team grows and works together. YYou’ll also support our day-to-day operations: the admin, logistics and coordination that keep the team running smoothly. Some tasks will involve building something new; others will simply need to get done. We’re looking for someone who enjoys both. What You’ll Do You’ll work directly with our Head of People and support different teams across Ecosmic, getting involved in HR, sales support, events, administration, and day-to-day operations. You’ll help improve how we hire and onboard, keep HR documentation and internal processes up to date, and support monthly payroll preparation. On the operations side, you’ll manage expenses and help organise retreats, events and travel. It’s a mix of project work and the hands-on tasks that keep things moving. Responsibilities
• Support the full hiring process: screen CVs, schedule interviews, keep in touch with candidates and, over time, run first-round interviews
• Run onboarding for new joiners, from preparation before day one to check-ins in the first weeks
• Update HR documentation and help prepare and organise internal and external documents, templates, and records.
• Support monthly payroll preparation, collect receipts and invoices,
and help with expense reports and routine administration and accounting tasks.
• Help organise retreats, team activities, and Ecosmic events, from researching options to coordinating bookings and logistics.
• Support sales and conference preparation by researching relevant contacts, helping organise meetings, and coordinating schedules.
• Take care of practical operations, including booking travel, accommodation, and insurance, managing calendars, and keeping the office stocked and organised. What You’ll Bring
• You’re organised. You can keep track of details, deadlines, and the things other people might forget.
• You’re happy to tackle a new project and take care of the practical admin that comes with it.
• You look for ways to make things work better. You ask questions, spot unnecessary steps, and suggest improvements.
• You follow through. You take responsibility for your tasks, flag issues early, and ask for help when you need it.
• You communicate with care. You’re comfortable interacting with candidates, colleagues, and external providers.
• You’re discreet. You understand that working in HR means handling sensitive information responsibly.
• You’re comfortable with spreadsheets, documents, calendars, and learning new digital tools.
• You have good written and spoken English and Italian.
• You’re curious about people, organisations, and what it takes to build a company.
What We Offer
• Flexibility and trust:
we measure people’s performance based on the objectives they achieve, rather than the hours they spend sitting at their desks
• Remote work and flexible hours: enjoy the possibility to work remotely up to 3 days per week, with a flexible starting time
• An incredible opportunity for growth: you’ll gain practical experience in recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, and operations, with direct guidance from our Head of People. You’ll have room to bring your own ideas, see them put into practice, and understand how your work shapes the team’s everyday experience.
• A young and international environment: join a dynamic and diverse team driven by innovation and collaboration
• A strong work-life balance culture: while we are ambitious and motivated to achieve great results together, we always prioritise our people’s health and well-being
• A monthly allowance of €500 The Selection Process If you successfully pass through our screening process, we’ll invite you to take part in two interviews online. In our selection process, talent takes precedence over experience. So if you like the role and think you could be awesome at it, go ahead and apply even if you don’t comply with the requirements. -
