Italian Operations Manager – Solar PV

Location: Milan, Italy (Hybrid - Regular Site Travel)

The Opportunity

A rapidly growing French renewable energy EPC contractor is expanding its presence across Italy and is looking to appoint an Italian Operations Manager to support its ambitious growth plans.

With an increasing portfolio of utility-scale solar PV projects moving into construction and delivery, the business is investing in its operational capabilities and expanding its project delivery team.

This is a key appointment offering the opportunity to take ownership of operational activities, coordinate Project Managers and Site Managers, and help build the company's Italian operations.

Reporting directly to senior management, you will combine technical expertise with operational oversight, spending significant time on-site to monitor progress, resolve challenges and ensure effective project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer from an EPC background looking to take on greater responsibility within a growing international business.

Key Responsibilities

- Operational Management: Oversee the delivery of utility-scale solar PV projects across Italy, ensuring progress against project timelines, budgets and technical requirements.
- Team Coordination: Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to monitor performance, resolve challenges and maintain effective communication.
- Site Oversight: Regularly visit construction sites to understand progress, identify risks and support technical problem-solving.
- Technical Support: Provide engineering expertise across PV installations, electrical systems and cabling.
- Project Reporting: Consolidate updates from Project Managers,



providing senior management with visibility of project progress and operational performance.
- Financial Management: Collect financial inputs from Project Managers and support budget monitoring and cost control.
- Grid & Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance with Italian regulations, permitting requirements and grid connection processes, including liaison with E-Distribuzione.
- Operational Development: Establish effective processes and reporting structures to support the company's expanding Italian project portfolio.
- Project Delivery: Take direct responsibility for selected projects where required.

Requirements

- Engineering degree, ideally in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong experience in utility-scale solar PV construction, ideally within an EPC contractor.
- Hands-on understanding of construction site operations and project delivery.
- Knowledge of PV installations, electrical systems and cabling.
- Understanding of Italian regulations, permitting and grid connection processes.
- Experience with project reporting, financial monitoring and cost control.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple project teams.
- Proactive attitude, strong team spirit and an interest in contributing to a growing business.
- Italian and good English essential; French advantageous.
