We are looking for an experienced Software Test Automation Engineer to support an exciting Automotive project in Turin.

The ideal candidate combines strong Python development, GUI/HMI test automation, Squish/QT, DevOps, virtualisation, and GitLab CI/CD expertise, with the ability to independently troubleshoot complex automation and infrastructure issues.

? Key Responsibilities

- Automate UI, API, integration, end-to-end and regression testing .
- Develop and maintain automated GUI tests for embedded HMI applications .
- Develop, extend and refactor a custom Python test automation framework .
- Integrate and drive GUI automation tools through Python.
- Manage virtual machines and test environments , including templates, cloning, snapshots and networking.
- Design, maintain and troubleshoot GitLab CI/CD pipelines .
- Perform root-cause analysis across test code, infrastructure, environments and GUI layers.




- Build test reporting solutions using GitLab Pages/custom HTML dashboards .
- Improve automation reliability, reduce flaky tests and optimise execution time.
- Collaborate with Development, DevOps and Product teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

✅ Required Skills

- 3+ years of software test automation experience.
- Strong hands-on Python programming skills.
- Experience developing/customising test automation frameworks using OOP, design patterns, packaging and modular architecture .
- Strong experience with QT / Squish .
- GUI automation experience for embedded HMI or desktop applications .
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation and VM management .
- Strong GitLab CI/CD knowledge, including YAML pipelines, runners, stages and artefacts.
- Experience with Git, Linux/Unix and shell scripting .
- Experience with Jira and Confluence .
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills.
