About Geek Powered Studios Geek Powered Studios helps small business owners win at marketing. We specialize in high-ticket home services — HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical — and healthcare. We're a partner to the businesses we serve, never just an expense. We chase Quality + Impact, we're Customer-Obsessed, and we have a hard Bias to Action. We Geek. You Profit. The Role We make other people's phones ring for a living. Ours doesn't ring often enough on the outbound side. We have an outbound sales operation. It is not good enough. The scripts are unproven, the cadences are inconsistent, and we can't yet tell you which part of the funnel is leaking. We're not going to pretend otherwise, and we're not looking for someone to inherit a machine that already works. We're looking for a player-coach who will pick up the phone on day one, call U.
S. home service business owners, find out what actually gets a contractor to book a meeting — and then turn that into a documented, repeatable system that 2–5 SDRs can run. You will build it and you will personally work it, at the same time, before anyone hands you a team. Important —
working hours
Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM U.
S. Central Time. This is non-negotiable. You are calling U.
S. businesses during their business day. If those hours don't work for your life long-term, this role isn't for you. What You'll Own
• Personally cold call U.
S. businesses. Not occasionally. Daily, from week one, until the process is proven.
• Audit the existing outbound operation and tell us plainly what's broken.
• Write, test, and rewrite cold-call openers, scripts, pitches, and objection handling — based on your own calls, not theory.
• Build outbound calling and follow-up cadences that hold up when someone else runs them.
• Develop the outbound offer and messaging alongside marketing.
• Establish baseline KPIs and daily/weekly/monthly activity expectations.
• Review call recordings and run real coaching sessions — not pep talks.
• Build SOPs, onboarding, and training so a new SDR ramps in weeks, not quarters.
• Eventually hire, manage, and hold accountable a team of roughly 2–5 SDRs. The Hard Parts (read this before applying) We'd rather you self-select out now than be surprised later.
• You are building the plane and flying it. For the first several months you're making the calls and writing the scripts and building the reporting and fixing the CRM workflow. There is no ops team to hand this to.
If your last role gave you an enablement function, a RevOps partner, and a warm list, this will feel like a step backward.
• You're inheriting a mess, not a machine. Some of what exists will need to be thrown out. You'll spend your first month finding out what doesn't work by doing it yourself, which is uncomfortable and slower than you'd like.
• You will get hung up on. Home service owners are busy, protective of their time, and have been pitched by twelve marketing agencies this month. Your first weeks of call data will be ugly. You need to find that interesting, not demoralizing.
• Nobody is going to tell you what to do next. You'll be expected to walk in and say: here's what's broken, here's what we're changing, here's how we'll test it, and here's how we'll know if it worked. How You'll Be Measured
• Qualified opportunities generated — not raw meetings on a calendar.
• Meeting show rate and meeting quality. A no-show isn't a meeting.
• Stage-to-stage conversion rates — and whether they improve month over month.
• Pipeline and outbound-sourced revenue.
• Ramp time and performance of the SDRs you train. If you can only sell it yourself, you haven't built anything. We care about qualified opportunities and revenue. Maximizing dials and meeting count while conversion stays flat is not success here. Who You Are You're a fit if:
• You have 3+ years of B2B outbound sales experience. Three years is the floor, no exceptions.
• You have made thousands of cold calls to U.
S.-based businesses and are still willing to.
• You speak fluent, professional English with a clear, neutral accent on the phone. You will be calling American business owners all day. If they have to ask you to repeat yourself, the call is over.
• You've coached SDRs or BDRs using actual call recordings — you can pull up a call and tell someone exactly where they lost it.
• You've built or meaningfully rebuilt an outbound process, not just executed someone else's.
• You think in conversion rates between stages, not activity totals.
• You're comfortable being an individual contributor and a manager in the same week.
• You have a reliable, quiet home office setup with stable high-speed internet and a professional headset. No background noise on calls. Strongly preferred: experience selling digital marketing, SEO, Google Ads / PPC, lead generation, SaaS, martech, or B2B professional services. Experience with GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce, Salesloft, Outreach, or a serious dialer. This Role Is NOT a Fit If…
• You've only managed an established, functioning sales team.
• You're "past" cold calling, or you'd need someone else to make the calls while you strategize.
• You need a playbook handed to you.
• Your experience is mostly inbound leads, demo requests, or marketing-qualified handoffs.
• You manage to activity dashboards instead of pipeline and revenue.
• You've never coached anyone off a recorded call.
• You can't reliably work U.
S. Central Time hours.
How to Apply
Bring receipts. We care about what actually worked, not job titles. Include:
• Your experience personally cold calling U.
S. businesses — roughly how many calls, to whom.
• The largest SDR/BDR team you've managed or coached.
• One outbound process you built or fixed, and the before/after numbers.
• The KPIs you use to manage SDR performance.
• Industries and services you've sold.
• CRM and outbound tools you've used.
• Your expected monthly base compensation (USD).
• What you'd evaluate in your first two weeks inheriting an underperforming outbound team. Also attach a 2–3 minute audio or video recording of yourself delivering a cold-call opener to a home services business owner. No recording, no interview. Applications without specifics in #3 and #8 won't move forward. Compensation & Details Base: $2,500 – $3,500 USD / month (≈ $30,000 – $42,000 / year
· ≈ $14.42 – $20.19 / hour), plus performance incentives. Incentives are tied to qualified opportunities generated, meeting show rate, pipeline generated, outbound-sourced revenue, and overall SDR team performance. Exact base depends on experience and previous results.
• Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM U.
S. Central Time — non-negotiable.
• 2 weeks PTO + paid U.
S. holidays
