Commercial Analyst

Saras is looking for a Commercial Analyst with strong potential and the ambition to grow in a challenging, international environment. As part of the Vitol group, a global leader in the energy sector, we offer the opportunity to develop your skills at the heart of a dynamic, P&L-driven; business.

Working closely with our commercial and operations teams in Milan, London and Rotterdam, you will gain hands-on experience in market risk, exposure management, P&L; tracking and crude and product optimization. Your analysis will help optimizers understand how market movements affect their positions and support decisions aligned with our commercial strategy.

What you’ll do

- Prepare and maintain high-quality position summaries, daily pricing exposure reports and profitability analyses
- Ensure new business, products and markets are accurately set up, documented and transparently represented
- Support curve integrity and mark-to-market processes for trading activitie.
- Work with the IT team to improve our Commodity Trading and Risk Management systems and solutions
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on key processes, including invoicing and account closing
- Carry out ad hoc analysis and troubleshooting for optimizers and management
- Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, increase efficiency and embed best practices

What we’re looking for

- Degree in Economics, Engineering or another analytical discipline, supported by a strong academic record
- Fluent English
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, confidence with Excel, and a sound understanding of accounting and valuation concepts
- Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
- A collaborative mindset, personal integrity and the ability to work across organizational and cultural boundaries
- A proactive, flexible and results-oriented approach, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
