- We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Architect with a strong background in automotive embedded systems, software architecture, and platform development. This role is instrumental in defining and leading the development of next-generation in-cabin software platforms that are connected, secure, and scalable.
- As a key contributor, you will be responsible for deriving system architecture from software requirements, creating and evaluating architecture alternatives, and guiding software teams toward clean, maintainable, and production-grade implementations. You will also contribute to embedded software development activities in C++, act as a technical mentor, and support cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality software to global automotive platforms.
Responsibilities
- Derive system and software architecture fulfilling quality attributes from software requirements.
- Create, evaluate, and document architecture alternatives using methods such as ATAM (Architecture Trade-off Analysis Method).
- Define and document static, dynamic, and deployment views using UML and Enterprise Architect tools.
- Guide and support software interface definitions, integrations, and reviews with development teams and domain experts.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, critical code reviews, and architecture validation.
- Maintain and improve platform architecture by supervising performance, identifying tech trends, and applying modern design solutions.
- Develop and maintain embedded software components using C and C++ on Linux and QNX RTOS platforms.
- Implement robust software error handling, diagnostics, and update mechanisms (e.g., OTA, UDS).
- Perform software security analyses, and contribute to cybersecurity implementations (e.g., TLS 1.2/1.3, encryption, secure boot).
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as AUTOSAR and ISO 26262.
- Collaborate with system engineers, hardware teams, and validation leads for specification, testing, and system integration.
- Participate in architectural discussions across multiple modules (e.g., Download Manager, Install Agent, UDS, IPC, Orchestrator).
- Maintain traceability from requirements to implementation and ensure architecture alignment across ECUs.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across global teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10–20 years of experience in embedded software development and software architecture.
- Deep expertise in Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Design Patterns, Architectural Patterns, and Concurrency Patterns.
- Extensive hands-on development in C++, with good familiarity in C.
- Strong background in Linux/QNX RTOS, POSIX APIs, CMake, Make, and Gnu Auto Tools.
- Proficient in version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and software traceability.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet.
- Familiarity with tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, INCA, and dSpace.
- Understanding of memory architecture (Flash, EEPROM), bootloaders, and secure firmware update flows.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR Adaptive/Classic, Yocto, or Android Automotive.
- Exposure to REST APIs, MQTT, DTLS, and modern IoT communication stacks.
- Good understanding of the OSI-ISO networking model and embedded networking stack.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional discussions and drive system-level alignment.
- Prior experience working in Agile, globally distributed development environments.
