We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist with experience in microbial bioinformatics. The successful candidate will be involved in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Sacco's bioinformatics pipelines (approximately 70% of the role). In addition, the position will involve selected wet-lab activities (e.g. DNA extraction, PCR) and the preparation of technical reports (approximately 30%), contributing to an integrated and multidisciplinary research environment. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Implement, and maintain scalable, reproducible bioinformatics pipelines for microbial genomics and multi-omics data - Perform standard wet-lab activities when required - Contribute to assigned projects, including experimental design, data analysis, and report writing - Conduct literature reviews and prepare scientific presentations - Ensure accurate data entry and proper documentation in line with internal standards SKILLS - Experience in programming languages (Python, Bash, and R). - Previous experience in managing and analyse large omics datasets - Previous experience in the installation,



use and/or development of bioinformatics pipelines and computational tools in Linux-based environments. - Hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCRs) - Good knowledge of statistics and data analysis applied to biological systems - Fluent English (both written and spoken) - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail - Well-organised and able to manage multiple priorities - Team-oriented, proactive and results-driven - Demonstrated interest in innovation, method development and emerging technologies REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biology or related disciplines, with excellent grades. - PhD and/or significant hands-on experience in microbial bioinformatics or related fields will be considered as a plus Settore: Industria farmaceutica Ruolo: Ricerca e sviluppo CCNL applicato: CHIMICA - Industria Salario mensile lordo: EUR 2000 - EUR 2800 Tipo di occupazione: Tempo indeterminato
