Quantity Surveyor – M&E; / Data Centres

About the Company

We are working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering high-value construction projects across Europe and internationally.

The business has an established track record across data centres, Build-to-Rent (BTR), commercial and other technically complex projects, with project values of up to £200 million.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Frankfurt, supporting the delivery of a major data centre project.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial and cost management of the project, with a particular focus on packages and systems.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and senior commercial management to ensure effective cost control and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the commercial and quantity surveying functions for M&E; packages.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
- Monitor project costs and provide accurate financial reporting.
- Carry out detailed cost analysis and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Manage procurement and subcontractor packages.
- Prepare, review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements.
- Manage valuations, variations, change control and final accounts.
- Monitor contractual obligations and ensure commercial compliance.
- Provide commercial advice to project and senior management teams.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders.
- Support value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives.




- Contribute to continuous improvement across commercial and cost management processes.

Requirements

- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' exper Quantity Surveying.
- Previous experience working on data centre or other technically complex projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of M&E; systems, packages and associated costs.
- Experience managing high-value projects from procurement through to completion.
- Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Excellent commercial, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience with relevant quantity surveying and commercial management software.
- RICS membership or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to be based in Frankfurt, Germany.
