• Advise, assist, and monitor high-performance athletes' training objectives, ensuring compliance with national guidelines and policies.
• Collaborate with AA's High-Performance Systems and Performance and Coaching departments, contributing to the overall high-performance program and TIS athletics program.
• Establish close relationships with athletes and coaches, providing support and guidance for training plans and long-term goals.
• Facilitate communication and integration between Member Association programs, the State Athletics Performance Program, and AA's High-Performance strategy.
• Attend athletics competitions, keeping track of athlete performances and rankings.
• Manage resources, facilities, consultancies, and the budget of the TIS Athletics Program.
• Available to fulfill National Team Coach duties and provide updates on athletes' plans and progress.
• Identify and propose athletes with significant performance outcomes for potential categorisation within the NASS program and selection to the PTP program.
• Engage the state-wide athletics community, including coaching and athlete development clinics.
• Perform other allocated duties as required. Pre-employment Requirements The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this role is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

• Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Driver Licence
• Successful completion of Sport Integrity Australia’s Ethical Decision Making & Introduction to Match Fixing online education modules The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout their employment in this role. Desirable Requirements
• Coaching certification and or experience in the athletics pathway’s environment and with other sporting disciplines at national and/or international level would be deemed an advantage.
• Demonstrated sound knowledge and/or qualification in either sports performance services, sports science, strength & conditioning, performance analysis.
