Operating across our Centers of Excellence in Genoa (Italy) and Berlin (Germany), you will contribute to the evolution of ABB's auxiliary converter portfolio through cutting-edge solutions based on innovative topologies and next-generation semiconductors. You will work alongside global ABB Traction teams while collaborating with Sales, RD, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure that every solution proposed is technically valid and commercially profitable. /p h3The Work Model For The Role Is /h3 pYou will be mainly accountable for: /p ul liLead development of complete technical proposals /li liConduct pre-project assessments to evaluate feasibility and define optimal solution strategy /li liReview customer technical specifications for clarity and alignment with ABB's capabilities /li liEnsure profitability and commercial viability through rigorous cost analysis /li liAnalyze auxiliary converter market trends and competitive landscape to identify priorities /li liSupport RD and product strategy alignment writing market and product requirement specifications /li liProvide technical support during customer meetings and negotiations /li liBuild strong technical relationships and position ABB as a trusted innovation partner /li liCapture and manage customer requirements into a comprehensive technical mandate for RD and Engineering Teams /li liParticipate in product management forums to define next-generation solution requirements /li /ul h3Qualifications For The Role /h3 ul liAdvanced knowledge of Power Electronics (DC/DC and DC/AC topologies, modulation techniques, thermal design) /li liProven experience in power conversion system development /li liUnderstanding of railway vehicle architectures and operational requirements /li liKnowledge of railway industry standards (EN, IEC) /li liMaster's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; PhD in Power Electronics is a plus /li liMinimum 3 years in power electronics development, ideally within railway or transport industry /li liExperience with technical proposals and customer-facing documentation /li liProficiency with MATLAB and/or Simulink /li liCreative mindset with strong initiative and attention to detail /li liCollaborative approach with excellent communication skills in English; Italian and German are a plus /li liWillingness to travel approximately 30% /li /ul h3Compensation Package /h3 pThis opportunity is open to candidates in multiple countries, with work location determined based on the selected candidate.
