Who will you be working with?

You will work for ANNAX, a Wabtec site specialized in Passenger Information Systems for trains, trams and metros.

You will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and work with an international engineering team supporting customer projects and the evolution of our products.

How will you make a difference?

As a System Engineer , you will be a technical reference for our System Project Engineers and project teams.

You will work across the complete system, turning customer needs into clear technical specifications, defining interfaces and architectures, and supporting the team when complex technical questions arise.

Your main field of expertise will be audio systems , combining traditional audio engineering with modern digital and networked technologies.

This is a role for someone who enjoys understanding how things really work , from requirements and system architecture down to signals, devices and communication protocols.

What will your typical day look like?

You engineer the system
You develop system requirements, system descriptions, architectures, interface specifications and the technical documentation needed to deliver our projects. You maintain requirements traceability and assess the impact of changes throughout the project lifecycle.

You are the technical partner of our project teams
You support System Project Engineers with technical analysis, options and recommendations. When required, you participate in technical discussions with customers and support integration and troubleshooting in the lab or on the vehicle.





You bring strong audio expertise
You understand audio systems from microphones, amplifiers, speakers, signal levels, impedance and acoustic performance to digital audio, VoIP, codecs, latency, noise reduction and echo cancellation. You are comfortable investigating real systems using measurement equipment and turning observations into technical conclusions.

You understand connected systems
You are comfortable with IP networks and communication protocols and understand concepts such as DHCP, NTP, VLANs and networked audio/video. You can discuss system-level cybersecurity topics such as secure configurations, certificates and communication between devices, working with specialists when deeper expertise is required.

You help us shape future products
As your knowledge of our systems grows, you will work with R&D; to translate project experience and emerging technologies into requirements and technical proposals for future generations of products, particularly in the audio domain.

What do we want to know from you?

- Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience , with a solid background in System Engineering and audio/electronic systems
- Hands-on understanding of audio systems ,



including analog and digital audio, amplification, microphones, speakers, signal levels and acoustic performance
- Experience in requirements engineering , technical specifications and requirements management/traceability tools
- Good understanding of IP networks and communication protocols
- Ability to understand electronic systems, electrical interfaces and hardware constraints
- Practical troubleshooting mindset and familiarity with tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and network analysis tools
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts applied at system level
- Familiarity with video streaming, codecs and related technologies is appreciated
- Railway or Passenger Information System experience is a strong plus, but not mandatory
- Professional English and Italian languages (German is considered a plus)
- Curiosity, autonomy and a genuine passion for understanding technology

- The current salary for this role ranges from €40,000 to €50,000. The actual salary offered to the candidate may be influenced by various factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base salary range is subject to change and may be reviewed in the future.
