Role Scope and Accountabilities
• Spend approximately 70% of working time in production areas, with the balance dedicated to analysis, reporting, investigations and corrective-action follow-up.
• Provide operational quality oversight for an assigned plant while collaborating across the wider three-plant manufacturing organisation.
• Operate primarily on a daytime schedule while recognising that manufacturing activity continues across shifts; prioritise risk-based coverage and effective handovers.
• Own timely detection, escalation and containment of internal product and process nonconformities; lead or coordinate root-cause investigations within the agreed quality governance model.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform in-process visual and dimensional inspections of products, components and assemblies throughout manufacturing operations.
• Verify compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, work instructions, inspection criteria and control plans.
• Execute planned inspections on critical orders, products, projects or manufacturing processes and conduct risk-based shop-floor spot checks.
• Document findings clearly, communicate issues to the relevant functions and follow through on agreed actions and closure dates.
• Detect, record and report nonconformities; ensure timely identification, segregation and containment of affected materials and products.
• Lead or coordinate root-cause analysis for internal manufacturing issues, involving Production, Process Engineering and other specialists as needed.
• Support definition and implementation of corrective and preventive actions and verify their effectiveness.
• Analyse recurring defects, scrap, rework, nonconformity and complaint data to identify trends, process weaknesses and improvement priorities.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of control plans, inspection methods, work instructions and quality standards.
• Participate in manufacturing-quality and continuous-improvement initiatives designed to reduce defects, variability and customer risk. Key Relationships
• Production Managers, Shift Leaders and shop-floor teams.
• Process Engineering and Industrial Engineering.
• Supplier Quality, Customer Quality and Quality Systems, where relevant.
• Maintenance, Lean and other support functions involved in corrective actions. Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology or a related technical field; a relevant technical diploma combined with substantial applicable experience may be considered.
• Relevant experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Control, Manufacturing Quality or a production environment; industrial manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Practical experience managing nonconformities, containment, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Working English is preferred; ability to communicate effectively in the local manufacturing environment is required. Technical Competencies
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, tolerances and technical specifications.
• Dimensional inspection techniques and use of appropriate measurement equipment.
• ISO 9001 quality-management principles, control plans and inspection procedures.
• Root-cause and corrective-action methods such as 5 Why, Ishikawa and structured problem solving.
• Basic statistical process control, quality metrics and trend analysis.
• Microsoft Office and relevant quality/NCR reporting systems. Behavioural Competencies
• Visible, hands-on shop-floor presence and sound judgement.
• Attention to detail combined with analytical, risk-based thinking.
• Constructive challenge, clear communication and effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Ownership, urgency and disciplined follow-through.
• Continuous-improvement mindset and focus on sustainable solutions.
