About the role

We are recruiting for a Rig Manager position for onshore drilling and workover operations.

Experience requirement: Candidates must have onshore drilling and/or workover experience relevant to the position. Candidates with both onshore and offshore experience are welcome; offshore-only experience does not meet the requirement.

Certification requirement: IWCF and/or IADC WellSharp certification appropriate to the role and operational duties. TAPROOT certification/training is required where specified by the employer or client, and otherwise preferred.

Job Purpose

Manage the overall operation of an assigned onshore drilling or workover rig, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of the approved program.

Key Responsibilities

- Direct daily rig operations in accordance with the approved drilling/workover program and company procedures.
- Supervise the Toolpusher, Night Toolpusher, rig crew, and third-party service providers.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, Saudi Aramco requirements where applicable, HSE procedures, and relevant industry standards.
- Monitor rig performance, downtime, nonproductive time (NPT), equipment reliability, and operational KPIs.
- Lead safety meetings, incident reporting, investigations, and corrective-action implementation.
- Coordinate with the Operations Superintendent and client representatives.
- Ensure equipment inspections, maintenance, certifications, and personnel competency records are current.

Qualifications and Experience

- Extensive drilling/workover experience, including senior supervisory or rig management experience.
- Demonstrated onshore rig management experience; offshore-only experience is not acceptable.
- Diploma or degree in drilling, petroleum engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Valid IWCF or IADC WellSharp certification at the level and discipline required by the assigned duties.
- TAPROOT incident investigation certification/training preferred, or mandatory if required by company/client policy.
- Saudi Aramco operational experience is an advantage.
