/p h3The Role /h3 pAs a Database Administrator (DBA) at Air Apps, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing large-scale, complex databases.
You will work with engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and resilient database systems that power our AI-driven platform.
/p pYour role will involve database tuning, backup and recovery strategies, monitoring, and ensuring data integrity while working with structured and unstructured data sources.
/p ul liThis is a fully onsite position, based at our office in Lisbon, where you will collaborate closely with cross?functional teams in person and contribute to a dynamic and fast?paced environment.

and maintain high-performance database systems to support large-scale applications.
/li liOptimize database queries, indexing strategies, and partitioning to enhance performance.
/li liMonitor database health, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
/li liManage and fine-tune SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).
/li liImplement database security policies, encryption, and access control to protect sensitive data.
/li liAutomate database backups, replication, and failover mechanisms.
/li liWork closely with developers to optimize queries, schema design, and data modeling.
/li liPerform capacity planning and monitor database growth trends.
/li liEnsure compliance with data governance, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.
/li liStay updated with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices.
/li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liAround 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or similar role.
/li liExpertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
/li liStrong knowledge of database optimization, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
/li liExperience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting slow queries.
/li liFamiliarity with database backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
/li liExperience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Aurora, Google Cloud Spanner, Azure SQL).
/li liKnowledge of scripting for automation (Python, Bash, SQL scripts).
/li liUnderstanding of data security best practices, encryption, and compliance requirements.
/li liExperience working with large, complex datasets and high-traffic applications.




/li liAbility to work with DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD workflows.
