Technical Director – Global Flooring and Stage Systems

Location: Flexible (UK / Central Europe) | Reporting to CEO | International travel required

Lead Harlequin’s global technical function and shape the next generation of performance flooring and stage systems. You will drive technical excellence across project delivery, engineering, and innovation, ensuring our solutions continue to set the industry benchmark for performance, safety and quality.

YOUR ROLE

- Lead the global technical function and support sales and project teams from specification through delivery, including major international projects.
- Translate complex customer and project requirements into practical engineering solutions, technical specifications, drawings and installation methodologies; conduct site assessments and resolve technical challenges.
- Provide technical input to customer meetings, tenders, quotations, costing, value engineering and installation planning.
- Mentor National Technical Managers,



deliver training and promote engineering best practice across the Group.
- Ensure that market trends, operational insights, and technical regulatory requirements are effectively translated into product development and engineering decision
- Investigate technical issues and customer claims, identifying long-term improvements.
- Partner with manufacturing and suppliers to improve performance, quality and efficiency; set technical standards, procedures and documentation.

- 8+ years' experience in a senior technical, engineering or product leadership role within a relevant industry.
- Formal carpentry, construction or engineering qualification, combined with experience in the theatre, performing arts or live entertainment industry.
- Strong understanding of timber stage construction; confident with CAD, technical drawings, engineering design and project delivery.
- Experience with commercial flooring, PVC flooring systems or engineered timber products would be advantageous.
- Commercially minded, customer-focused and analytical, with experience working across international teams; familiarity with ERP and CRM systems.
- Business fluent English skills, proficiency in additional European language skills would be advantageous.
- Desirable: expertise in acoustics, vibration control or structural stage/floor engineering; sustainability or product lifecycle management knowledge.
- Willingness to travel internationally
