The Tissue Engineering Lab at Centro Cardiologico Monzino has an opening for a Junior Researcher to join the recently funded RF – Giovani Ricercatori project:
“Super-selective NANOtheranostic tool to prevent the MECHano-dependent pro-fibrotic activation of human cardiac fibroblasts in heart failure.”
The project aims to develop and validate an innovative nanoparticle-based theranostic approach to selectively target cardiac fibroblasts and counteract their pathological pro-fibrotic activation in heart failure.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for candidates with a Master’s degree in Biology, Medical Biotechnology, Biomedical/Health Sciences or related disciplines, and previous experience in a research laboratory.
We are particularly interested in candidates with hands-on experience in:
• Primary cell isolation and culture;
• Molecular and cellular biology techniques, including RNA extraction and RT-PCR;
• Protein analysis, including Western blot and ELISA;
• Histology and confocal microscopy;
Previous experience with nanoparticle-based experimental approaches will be considered an advantage.
What we offer:
• A one-year research contract, renewable for an additional year, within the RF – Giovani Ricercatori funded project;
• An opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art research facility for cellular and molecular biology, within a multidisciplinary and highly translational research environment.
