Apply by 09 Nov 2026
About This Opportunity
The European University Institute is offering a 12-month paid traineeship in Florence supporting HR Strategy and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work, including events, research, data analysis, training and the annual EDI report.
About the Opportunity
This remunerated traineeship is based at the European University Institute in Florence and supports HR Strategy and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work linked to the Office of the Provosts.
What You Will Work On
The trainee can help organize EDI events and campaigns, conduct research and data analysis, support training, contribute to the annual EDI report and assist committees or working groups. The role can also include awareness material, podcast-related content and records management.
Qualifications and Technical Background
Applicants need a completed first-cycle university degree and should normally have obtained the diploma no more than three years before the deadline unless continuing further studies. English at B2 or above plus satisfactory knowledge of another EU language is required. Relevant EDI interest may come from study, training, research, volunteering or professional activity.
Compensation and Working Arrangements
The placement is full-time, Monday to Friday, eight hours per day, for 12 months in Florence, with planned start on 1 February 2027. The grant is EUR 1,540 per month. Eligible trainees from outside Florence may receive travel-cost reimbursement and have access to EUI facilities and subsidized meals.
Who This Opportunity Is Best Suited For
This traineeship may suit recent graduates interested in people policy, institutional equality work or evidence-based HR strategy rather than recruitment or payroll administration.
Potential Challenges / Who May Find It Less Suitable
The role is a full-time 12-month commitment in Florence and is tied to formal nationality, degree-recency and language rules. Candidates seeking a narrow HR analytics or corporate talent-acquisition role may find the EDI focus different.
Overall Opportunity Assessment
This is a distinctive HR/EDI traineeship with a clear institutional mission, defined grant and enough duration to contribute to substantive projects.
