About Ephos Ephos is building vertically integrated, advanced packaging solutions on glass panels. We transform raw glass into electronic and optically active substrates for die-to-die connectivity, manufactured entirely within our own facilities. Our systems are built for companies developing AI accelerators, including hyperscalers and top-tier chip designers. We have already delivered products to leading global firms, and we are currently building a new fabrication facility to scale production by 100x. This expansion is backed by a $50M EU CHIPS Act grant—the first ever awarded to a startup. The role The Electronics Engineer will design the electronics systems that control our production tools: architecture, PCBs, embedded firmware and control loops. That means helping in selecting the sensors and actuators the machines need, designing the electronics around them, and tying everything to a central controller. The work is hands-on, from schematic to a board on the bench, in close contact with the process and manufacturing teams. As the role grows, it extends to the electronics behind our advanced packaging demonstrators, where the same skills go into making a full optical link measurable. Your responsibilities
• Define the electronics architecture of our production tools: sensing, control and automation.
• Design PCBs end to end: schematic, layout and debug.
• Write the embedded firmware that runs on them.
• Close the control loops that keep the tools repeatable.
• Integrate the electronics into the machines together with our mechanical workshop.
• Build test and measurement setups for the process and photonics teams.

• Build the electronics systems for our advanced packaging demonstrators. The candidate we are looking for
• MSc in Electronics Engineering with 3–5 years of experience, or a PhD with 0–2 years.
• Able to design a circuit from a requirement, and to explain the reasoning behind the chosen parts.
• Hands-on experience designing PCBs, schematic and layout, and debugging them when things do not work.
• Experience writing firmware for microcontrollers in C or C++.
• Comfortable in the lab and familiar with benchtop instrumentation.
• Can commit to full-time lab presence; due to the nature of the role we will not consider remote applicants.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self starter.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset.
• Ephos is a demanding environment. We operate with exceptional ambition and move fast, because the market gives us no other option. We expect excellence from you, as we do from one another. This environment offers unmatched opportunities to learn, build, and grow, but it also requires significant commitment. Nice to have
• Sensor front-ends, control loops knowledge.
• Motion control or machine automation.
• Any exposure to photonics or optical assembly.

What we offer
• Salary range from €45,000 to €65,000, depending on experience.
• Stock options; granted at this stage, they can become extremely valuable.
• An exceptional opportunity for growth. The hiring process
• Interview with one of our Electronics Engineers;
• Interview with our Electronics Lead;
• Interview with our CEO.
