Location: JRC Joint Research Centre, Italy, around Milano area
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Radiation Protection Technician to join a nuclear environment project.
This is a tempo pieno, on site opportunity for a senior technician with solid hands on experience in radiation protection and operational support within highly regulated nuclear environments.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor radiation levels and help ensure the safety of controlled and exposed areas.
- Perform area monitoring and radiometric measurements for radiation dose and contamination.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure radiological protection equipment is properly maintained.
- Operate instruments used for contamination assessment, including smear test monitors, scintillation detectors, and gamma spectrometry analyzers.
- Carry out briefing and debriefing related to ongoing site activities.
- Support and train staff on radiological safety procedures and best practices.
- Prepare technical documentation related to radiological measurements and monitoring activities.
Candidate profile
- Minimum 4 years of operational experience in the nuclear and radiation protection field.
- Strong practical knowledge of radiological monitoring and contamination control.
- Experience using radiation detection and measurement equipment.
- Ability to work accurately and rigorously in a highly regulated environment.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to support operational teams on site and ensure compliance with radiological safety procedures.
