pFor our client, an international automation company, we are looking for a: /p h3Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - TEAM LEADER /h3 pAs Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design of cutting-edge robotics and secondary packaging equipment, including cartoners, case packers, tray loaders, and custom machines. You will drive design innovation, mentor junior engineers, and play a critical role in delivering high-quality solutions from concept through FAT and SAT. /p h3Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Duties: /h3 ul liOwn the mechanical design of bespoke automation and secondary packaging systems, starting from concept through to completion. /li liProduce detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks (or similar CAD software). /li liSpecification sourcing of off-the-shelf components. /li liWork cross-functionally with Controls, Electrical, Project Management and Production teams. /li liLead Design Reviews both internally and externally. /li liCollaborate with suppliers and manufacturing department to optimise for cost, performance, and ease of assembly. /li liPlan the work using the approved Project Methodology and Standard Work-Flows. /li liGenerate the required project documentation (internal and external). /li liEnsure designs comply with GMP, CE, and industry-specific safety standards. /li liPerform risk assessments and DFMEA. /li liMentor and coach junior mechanical designers and engineers. /li liContinuously evaluate new technologies, materials,



and design methodologies to improve machine performance and reliability. /li /ul h3Qualifications Experience: /h3 ul liBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. /li li10+ years’ experience in mechanical design, with at least 5 in automation or special purpose machinery. /li libExperience with pharmaceutical or medical device automation /b /li liProven track record in leading the design of complex, high-speed mechanisms and packaging equipment. /li liExpert-level proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and PDM systems. /li liStrong mechanical intuition, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability /li liStrong understanding of pneumatics, servo systems, cams, and mechanical drives. /li liFamiliarity with CE marking and machine safety standards (ISO 12100, ISO 13849, etc.). /li liExcellent communication skills, with the ability to influence across engineering and customer teams. /li liExperience with coaching and mentoring of younger colleagues. /li liWork arrangement: remote, with occasional travel (approx. 10%) for client collaboration. /li /ul h3Preferred Requirements: /h3 ul liUnderstanding of validation processes (e.g. DQ, FAT, SAT). /li liKnowledge of vision systems and robotic integration (Delta/Cobots). /li liFamiliarity with lean manufacturing principles and design-for-manufacture (DFM). /li liFEA and motion simulation experience (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, Ansys). /li liLeadership experience on cross-functional project teams. /li /ul #J-18808-Ljbffr
