Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Qonto, you will help build the financial infrastructure used by 750,000+ European SMEs, delivering reliable real-time transactions. You will co-own architecture and scalability, guided by Domain-Driven Design, and contribute to discovery and quality improvements. You will lead design discussions and mentor peers, while collaborating with product, design, and other engineering teams. This role combines autonomy, impact, and the opportunity to advance a mission-driven fintech platform with modern tooling.

Responsabilità

- Design, build, deploy, and maintain services handling real financial transactions with production reliability
- Co-own service architecture, resilience, and scalability per Domain-Driven Design




- Grow technical leadership by leading design discussions and mentoring engineers
- Drive continuous improvement: fix flaky CI, conduct post-mortems, share learnings
- Contribute to discovery, make technical decisions, monitor production performance, raise quality standards

Requisiti fondamentali

- Strong backend engineering experience with large-scale web application architecture and real production constraints
- Ability to transfer quickly to new stacks and adapt to similar technologies
- Quality-driven mindset: tests, monitoring, incident handling, root cause analysis
- Ownership mindset: track impact after release, flag regressions, improve scope autonomously
- Team player: comfortable in squad teams with PMs, Designers, and other stacks; fluent in English
