Overview

As Originator in Italy, you drive the development and execution of long-term commercial energy transactions, including PPAs and structured hedges. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to craft competitive, value-rich solutions aligned with risk appetite. You will explore decarbonization opportunities and broaden Alpiq’s Italian portfolio, shaping sustainable energy markets. This role blends market insight, commercial creativity, and rigorous analysis to impact PnL and portfolio growth.

Responsabilità

- Originate and structure physical and virtual PPAs, long-term hedges, and structured transactions with commercial competitiveness
- Lead negotiations with clients, producers, and counterparties, coordinating with Legal for compliant contracts
- Provide market insights, valuations, and business cases to support decision making
- Identify opportunities linked to decarbonization and sustainability-focused products
- Support development of products, procedures, and systems for improved execution
- Collaborate with Structured Trading to ensure pricing, valuation, and hedging consistency
- Coordinate with Risk, Credit, Treasury,



Finance for governance and approvals
- Communicate deal pipeline, progress, and risks to Head of Origination Italy
- Develop trusted relationships with producers, large consumers, and market counterparties
- Enhance coordination across functions to improve deal execution quality
- Support innovative sustainability initiatives and long-term profitability of the Italian portfolio

Requisiti fondamentali

- 5+ years of experience in origination, structured energy trading, or business development
- Strong experience with physical and virtual PPA structures, including pricing and negotiation
- Familiarity with EFET and long-term structured contract frameworks
- Solid understanding of the Italian power market
- Creativity and strategic thinking to identify origination opportunities and innovative solutions
- Analytical skills to build valuations and business cases
- Native-level Italian and excellent English
- Experience with sustainability-related commercial solutions
- Understanding of regulatory, market, and credit risk principles
- Ability to collaborate across multiple internal functions
