Fluid Wire Robotics is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer in Pisa, Italy. Contract: tempo pieno. Degree level: Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering. Language: English. Work experience: 1+ years (PhD or academic research counts). The role covers designs the mechanical hardware of the company's fluid-wire-actuated robotic platforms for the planned mid-2027 commercialisation of its robotic arm. Takes fluid-wire mechanisms from concept to detailed CAD, then manufactures, assembles and iterates components and prototypes, integrates mechanisms into complete robots, validates performance in lab testing and designs for harsh conditions including high temperature, radiation, vacuum and space.

Requirements:





- Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering with at least a year of hands-on hardware engineering including PhD or academic research
- proficient in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD package
- solid mechanical design fundamentals

Nice to have:

- robotics and automation background, Matlab Simulink and finite element analysis
