Offer Description

The planned research activities will relate to the Bric Inail project “LIGHT-WEIGHT ROPS FOR SMALL AGRICULTURAL SELF-PROPELLED MACHINERY (LW-ROPS)”, under topic ID “Lightweight protective structures for operators of self-propelled work equipment”, and will concern: Definition of the interface between ROPS/FOPS and the vehicle: state of the art, definition of frame attachment kits. Parametric drawings of bases and brackets, and local resistance verifications. Material selection: evaluation of aluminum alloy in terms of mechanical properties and machinability (extrusion, bending,



and roll bending of profiles, Additive Manufacturing), pultruded GFRP, solutions with steel core or others. Design and simulations of the solutions: FEM models, resistance verifications according to the protocol; optimization of geometries and joints, including topological optimization. Eligibility criteria

REQUIREMENT: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (LM33)

obtained no more than six years prior to the application date

- Proficiency in 3D modeling within CAD environments; ability to diagram mechanical systems and create manufacturing drawings
- Proficiency in FEM simulation of mechanical structures. Experience in topology optimization
- Participation in research projects related to mechanical design; Post-graduate scholarships, contracts and appointments awarded by public or private institutions
- Knowledge of both Italian and English languages
