Title of the project: " Real-time machine learning for the ATLAS trigger system and development of a trigger-level analysis in the Higgs sector". The post-doc appointment is part of the ERC Consolidator Grant project ARTEMIS (GA 101231048), which develops machine learning techniques for real-time event selection in the ATLAS experiment at CERN, and concerns the trigger component of the project.



Over the two years of the appointment the activity focuses on feasibility studies. The post-doc will work on: (i) the design and optimisation of transformer neural networks for the online selection of fully hadronic final states in the ATLAS software trigger, including the study of the input variables and the assessment of performance; (ii) feasibility studies for a trigger-level analysis, aimed at defining which information needs to be recorded, the data reduction strategies and the expected performance..Omissis.
