Overview

In this role you contribute to ABB’s product data integrity and digitalization efforts within R&D Product Care. You will manage product structures, BOMs, and documentation, ensuring traceability and quality across the lifecycle. You’ll support product launches and changes, align documentation with enterprise systems, and drive data automation and AI-enabled improvements. This position offers cross-functional collaboration in a global setting and exposure to SAP, PLM, and advanced data tools. You’ll play a key part in shaping efficient, reliable product data workflows in electrification and protection devices.

Responsabilità

- Create, maintain and manage product structures, BOMs, codifications, and related engineering data
- Create and update technical product documentation per internal standards and regulatory requirements
- Ensure documentation traceability, completeness, and quality throughout the product lifecycle
- Support product launches, engineering changes, and maintenance with timely documentation updates
- Ensure alignment between engineering docs and enterprise systems
- Manage product information in SAP and Windchill
- Support engineering change management workflows and product release processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data discrepancies and improve data quality




- Contribute to standardization and optimization of data and documentation processes
- Identify opportunities for process simplification, digitalization and automation, focusing on data quality and repetitive tasks
- Apply AI-enabled tools and automation to documentation, data management, validation, and process improvement
- Progressively take ownership of assigned processes and become a reference point for related activities

Requisiti fondamentali

- Knowledge of 2D/3D CAD
- Nice to have Catia V5 and Creo 8.0
- Italian and English communication
- Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems
- Knowledge of Windchill or equivalent PLM/PDM platforms
- Understanding of Bills of Materials, product structures, codification and product configuration
- Familiarity with technical documentation processes and document control
- Understanding of engineering change management processes
- Interest in applying AI and automation to improve data quality and efficiency
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, data validation, analytical reporting)
- Ability to create or maintain Excel macros and VBA automations (advantage)
- Knowledge of Power BI for data modelling, dashboards, KPI monitoring
- Ability to identify AI use cases for documentation, data analysis, and workflow automation
- Strong data mindset for handling large datasets and ensuring release quality
