Role responsibilities
own the design of Mirai's mission-control interfaces: situational-awareness displays, fleet orchestration and vehicle command views
turn multi-source real-time telemetry and sensor data into displays readable under pressure
design 3D and geospatial layers for maritime operations and prototype XR concepts
define the HMI design language for dark, information-dense environments
build high-fidelity prototypes and work with engineers on implementation
Requirements
5+ years in HMI, game UI or mission-critical interface design with a portfolio of data-dense real-time systems




strong spatial and map-based design skills
Figma, ideally with Unity, Unreal, Three.js or WebGL prototyping
sensibility shaped by game, simulation or defence/industrial HMI
fluent English
regular presence at the Puglia lab.
XR, shipped game UI, Three.js/Deck.gl/Cesium and human-factors experience preferred.
Offer: Hybrid role with regular presence in Italy and remote flexibility, direct collaboration with the autonomy engineering team and authority to define the visual language of a new category of interface.
