Through the support of various international donors, FAO Egypt is implementing a growing portfolio of projects covering but not limited to; land and water enhancement, agriculture production, animal health, climate change adaptation, agrifood value chain development, food security and nutrition and support to vulnerable rural and smallholder farmers. Further, an expected pipeline of projects covering climate change adaptation, natural resources management, biodiversity restoration and risk reduction is expected. FAO Egypt also sits in various coordination mechanisms in the country, in a strategic capacity, as a technical lead for food systems and agriculture. To deliver its program, FAO Egypt is working with several line ministries such as Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health and Population, Ministry of Social Solidarity, Ministry of Water Irrigation, and Ministry of Youth and Sports.



/p h3Reporting Lines /h3 pThe Senior Gender Expert will work under the direct supervision of FAO Representative in Egypt /p h3Technical Focus /h3 pThe Senior Gender Expert will support the effective implementation of gender related activities and related capacity development and communication activities, ensuring gender considerations are effectively integrated into project activities and coordination with local stakeholders. /p h3Tasks and responsibilities /h3 ul liLead the design, mainstreaming and implementation of gender, accountability and inclusion components across the FAO Egypt country programme; /li liDevelop the country gender strategy and implementation framework and advise project teams on gender-responsive programming, resource allocation, risk management and corrective actions; /li liProvide strategic and technical leadership for the implementation, periodic review and operationalization of the project(s) gender strategies, translating commitments into prioritized actions, responsibilities, timelines and measurable results; /li liLead participatory gender analysis across target communities to identify differentiated needs, constraints, capacities, risks and opportunities, and ensure that findings inform project design and adaptive management; /li liEstablish and oversee a results framework for gender equality and women's empowerment, including gender-responsive indicators, baselines, targets and data-quality standards, and integrate these into project monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems; /li liEnsure systematic collection and analysis of sex- and age-disaggregated data to identify gender gaps and inform project delivery and decision-making; /li liPrepare high-quality periodic analytical reports on progress against gender outcomes and targets, identify implementation bottlenecks and emerging risks, and recommend evidence-based corrective measures to project managers and senior management; /li liLead the PSEA Action Plan for FAO Egypt including monitor the implementation of PSEA during the FAO project cycle, with special attention to projects with high gender markers as a main component; /li liProvide technical quality assurance for project workplans, tools, studies, training packages, communication materials and knowledge products to ensure consistency with FAO gender standards; /li liProvide technical oversight and coaching to coordinators, facilitators,
