CONTEXT
As part of its strong growth in Italy, with four ground-mounted photovoltaic plants being commissioned in Lazio (about 43.5 MW) and about 57.6 MW of new projects being prepared for construction from 2027, Photosol Energia Italia is strengthening its Construction / EPC team in Italy and is looking for a Construction Project Manager Intern (M/F).
Reporting to the Construction Project Manager - Italy, the intern will provide operational support on project execution, from engineering, permitting and grid connection to the follow-up of the works, with strong exposure to technical, planning, quality, safety and cost issues.
MAIN TASKS
1. Engineering support and project preparation
- Contributing to the adaptation of PV plant layouts (layout, detailed design drawings – progetto esecutivo).
- Following with the technical engineer the technical studies required for construction:
- Geotechnical studies
- Topographic surveys
- Pre-construction condition surveys
- Specific technical specifications (civil works, structures, networks, etc.)
- Supporting the secondary permitting required to start the works: applications to the authorities (Provinces, municipalities, ANAS, Genio Civile, Soprintendenza), tracker per site, start-of-works formalities.
- Helping with the technical analysis of the solutions proposed by earthworks and preparatory-works contractors.
2. Support to construction execution
- Assisting the Construction Project Manager in scheduling and monitoring the sites (planning, milestones, coordination).
- Taking part in progress meetings with contractors, the Works Director (DL) and partners.
- Contributing to the follow-up of the physical and financial progress of the projects.
- Supporting the monitoring of budgets, deadlines and quality of execution.
3. Quality, Health, Safety, Security & Environment (QHSSE)
- Contributing to quality control on site with weekly site visits.
- Taking part in health, safety and environment follow-up.
- Compliance with HSE rules
- Follow-up of safety plans (PSC / POS) with the safety coordinator (CSE)
- Reporting of deviations and corrective actions
- Edit a weekly report of QHSSE updates
- Helping capitalise on lessons learned from site.
5. Administrative, contractual and grid connection coordination
- Supporting the grid connection follow-up with the DSO (e-distribuzione) and Terna: connection offers, TICA timelines, documentation for the end of the strictly necessary works, transfer of permits to the DSO.
- Helping comparing the options for the grid connection works (carried out by the DSO or by a third-party contractor).
- Taking part in structuring a checklist of construction contracts adapted to Italian specificities.
- Contributing in improving project tracking tools and methods.
6. Continuous improvement and innovation
- Proposing optimisation for technical choices to reduce construction costs
- Carrying out technology watch on innovative and sustainable solutions in the photovoltaic sector
