- $32.62 per hour The City of Attleboro is seeking to fill two (2) Maintenance Craftsman / Laborer positions in the Water Department. These positions perform unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the City’s water distribution system and related public works operations. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Performing manual labor related to the construction, operation,



and maintenance of water systems, including reservoirs, water gates, water mains, and connectors.
• Laying and connecting service pipes to street mains and water meters.
• Installing, repairing, and testing water meters.
• Locating and repairing water leaks.
• Installing fire hydrants, operating water gates, and activating water service for new connections.
• Performing manual labor and heavy lifting as required.
• Operating trucks with rated capacities exceeding 3 tons and up to 15 tons, as well as large tractor-trailers, snow loaders, snow fighters, and road flushers.
• Operating other vehicles and equipment as needed, including dump trucks, passenger vehicles, sidewalk plows, small tractors, and rollers.
• Cleaning, washing, fueling, oiling, and greasing trucks and automobiles; changing tires; and performing minor equipment maintenance.
• Sweeping sidewalks, raking lawns, hauling debris, shoveling snow, and plowing and sanding roads.
• Assisting with the City’s snow and ice removal program.
• Performing other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
• A current and valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B.
• A Massachusetts D2 Water Distribution License. This license may be obtained within two (2) years of hire.
