Overview

In this role you will lead and shape VCSEL-based optical interconnect validation programs, spanning electro-optical chiplets, multiple vendors, and automated lab benches. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to bring hardware from first silicon through production, implementing measurement methods and characterization plans. You'll drive test platform development, vendor coordination, and lab automation to ensure scalable, high-quality validation. Responsabilità

- Lead multiple test platforms, benches and board developments across sites with responsibility for schedule, quality and cost
- Design and develop electrical and optical test benches for VCSEL-based interconnect including architecture definition and instrument qualification
- Develop hardware components (PCBs, boards, fixtures) and manage fabrication/assembly with outsourced partners
- Create new measurement techniques for optical and high-speed links and evaluate instruments
- Bring up and characterize electro-optical chiplets with cross-functional teams




- Define and execute validation plans from first silicon to tape-out
- Work with optics vendors to qualify components and correlate results
- Automate benches and data flows in Python for instrument control and data analysis
- Write test plans, reports and design guidelines
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and report progress to stakeholders

Requisiti fondamentali

- 8+ years of related experience in electrical/optical lab testing
- Deep experience with high-speed electrical lab measurements (oscilloscopes, BERT, VNA/TDR, AWG, spectrum analyzers)
- Deep experience with optical lab measurements (power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, photoreceivers)
- Bench automation in Python (SCPI/VISA/GPIB) and data analysis (Python, MATLAB, JMP or R)
- Knowledge of high-speed board design (SI/PI, transmission lines, PCB materials)
- Experience with OrCAD/Allegro or equivalent tools
- Strong fundamentals in communication systems and analog/digital circuits
- Proven technical leadership and vendor management
- Fluent English and ability to work with remote teams across Italy, Vietnam, Canada and the US
