Overview

As Head of Banking Operations, you will own the end-to-end money movements, settlements, and reconciliations at scale, ensuring safety and reliability. You will lead payment rails, card and FX operations, and drive automation to raise throughput and reduce losses. You’ll build and mentor a high-performing team, collaborate with banks, processors, regulators, and product teams, and shape our payments strategy in a fast-growing, mission-driven fintech. Responsabilità

- Own SEPA, TARGET, domestic schemes, securities and fund rails, and the money side of cards; ensure scheme compliance and FX where required
- Lead daily reconciliation of client money with root-cause ownership for each break
- Drive scale and efficiency via automation to reduce manual steps, costs per transaction, and operational losses
- Prepare and launch new products with the correct accounts, rails, and controls from day one
- Manage banks, processors, and other partners with tested backups for critical relationships




- Build, structure, and mentor the Banking Operations team with transparent communication and integrity

Requisiti fondamentali

- European payment infrastructure expertise (SEPA rulebooks, R-transactions, card schemes, processing, SWIFT, TARGET); delivered at least one major scheme migration
- Hands-on securities, custody, or fund operations experience
- Experience running operations in a licensed institution (bank, e-money, or payment processor)
- Proven track record of reconciliation management and reducing breaks/operational losses
- Demonstrated success in hiring, structuring, and leveling an operations team
- History of scaling operations through automation and process improvements rather than headcount
- Credibility with correspondent banks, schemes, and regulators
- Comfort in a fast-paced, product-driven environment; collaboration with engineers and product managers
- Location: based in Luxembourg, or relocation willing; Fluent English (Italian a plus)
