The Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence (AI4I) invites applications for a PhD position focused on Agentic and System-1/System-2 architectures for robot autonomy. The project investigates how multimodal foundation models, Vision-Language-Action policies, and world models can be designed to achieve reliable autonomy in unstructured environments.
Collaboration with Politecnico di Torino is intended, with opportunities for visits to partner institutions.
